In , the College became fully co-educational with the admission of girls into the Lower School and with the establishment of the first of the all-girl boarding houses. It is now one of the very few seven days a week full boarding schools in the country and its boarding provision enables it to attracts pupils from hundreds of schools all around the country and indeed around the world.
These are accommodated in 16 boarding houses of which six are all-girl houses and six are all-boy houses. In addition to the Neolithic mound and the eighteenth-century mansion, the College has buildings designed by an extraordinary range of architects. George Frederick Bodley, the most distinguished late nineteenth century ecclesiastical architect, built the Chapel, the North Block of classrooms and the Memorial Library.
